The book
In the book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Mikael Blomkvist , the main character, is given the task of finding out what happened to a wealthy mans great niece Harriet. He is told that he will be given information about a man who he had recently reported on which turned out that all the source information had been a lie. With this info he could of redeem himself and put out the truth about the man. But the last time he had been given info about this man it was all fake. At the time he was given the case he was very suspicious with the man who is giving him the task Henrik Vanger, but later trusts him and helps him find Harriet. If i was in his shoes i would have at least wanted a piece of the info before hand to confirm he had it. As he was already fooled once, now paying for it by losing his job and statues as a journalist i wouldn't want to be fool twice causing more trouble and a possible loss of everything he owns. Since the man he is trying to report on is very wealthy i wouldn't want to get wrong info on him twice. Henrik said he knew the man from a few years back hinting that the info might be old, almost to old to be useful. Or their could be no info at all and all his work would be for nothing. Wit these odds i would of at least wanted some sort of sample to keep him going. Since most people usually only do things if the know there will be a reward, i would of wanted a sample. He had been fool once and lost his job and statues, Twice would make him loose everything else he had.
