My Top 3: Post Apocalyptic Movies

I will base my criteria these different characteristics:

1. Having to use survival skills (finding food, making a fire, makeshift shelter etc)

2. Have some kind of goal (to get somewhere, to find something etc)
3. Face some kind of major threat that could or will danger thier lives (rock slide etc)
4. Danger present at all times (like other survivor, bandits, mutated monsters etc.
)5. Something that makes this survivor special.6. Showing the hardship of the Apocalypse

#3 I Am Legend(2007)I chose this at #3 because this movies about a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, and a sole survivor in New York City who struggles valiantly to find a cure. He uses his military scientist knowledge and skills find/make a cure for the a virus that covers the city. With these skills he gave himself a resistance to the virus before the movie. With the cure he will cure the city of the monsters by administating a syringe, making curing this a difficult task.  He meets two survivors at some point who were coming to the city by hearing a radio that he had put up. But they make a fatal mistake causing grave danger to them and the making of the cure. In this movie there is a clear goal, a major threat and some kind of danger thats present at all times. but this movie lask use of major survival skills as he has a load of food stacked up in his house and seems to have ease finding more food. Him having military scientist skills makes him unique. With the lack of survival skill use, which to me is the most importent part of a good Post Apocalyptic movie sets this movie at number three.

#2 The Book of EliI chose this at #2 because this is a post-apocalyptic tale, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind. In this movie. Throughout this movie he shows off his extremely good fighting skills and survival skills by walking through a post Apocalyptic land for 30 years before the movie. His goal is just going west which is explained why later in the movie. In this land he faces Constant danger of being attacked by bandits, which he is attacked by and prevailes many times. But at some point he gets somewhat side tracked from his goal which eventually leads him to facing his biggest threat he has faced yet. He has amazing survival skills, and with these survival skills he goes west. He is in counstant danger of being robbed by bandits but his amazing combat skills keep him away from death. But the amazing part of the movie (this is a spoiler), is that he is completely blind throughout the movie making his journey extremely amazing. But this movie is really about the journey he had, it doesnt show the hardship of how it would

#1 The RoadI chose this at #1 because is a post-apocalyptic tale of a man and his son trying to survive by any means possible. He is just a ordinary man with his son, trying to survive by savaging food and items just to try to fill their bellies. Their goal is like is simple, survive by any means.  A goal which i think would be the only goal you would have if a apocalypse to happen. With every passing day the have the threat of bandits and highway gangs killing them. This is considered both a major and constant threat because of him just being a ordinary man with a child. The only thing he has to defend themselves is a revolver with 2 rounds. The main thing that makes him special from the rest is that he has a child to care for and how in this place, he is the few who believes in doing good things. The rest have come to cannibalism or murdering other humans. This movie greatly shows the hardship of an apocalyptic world. This movie in my eyes is the movie to watch to see how a apocalyptic would would be without to an ordinary person without any of the special great people who change the world. It meets all the requirement above and is just a great movie to watch, a little depressing at times but a good movie none the less. I put this at #1.
